Sep 2025 : We just returned from a very memorable 2w trip to Sri Lanka arranged by Asian Island Pvt Ltd. Visited so many places across the island, and now have a bucket list of many more to visit, 2w is just not enough. Very well arranged, good hotels, good rental car with driver speaking the local language, and very friendly staff. It certainly helps to have a local travel agency arrange a vacation! I generally don't write any reviews nowadays coz in the world of paid PR everything seems very fake but this one is special so had to talk about it. Let let me begin by saying that this was my 3rd attempt to reach Sri Lanka with the earlier 2 being cancelled. When I had to cancel my 1st booking just a week before I got a refund of 30%. The second time my brother took charge and found a company unheard of and unknown to me...ASIAN ISLAND. Once again we had to cancel our trip under similar conditions and I was shocked to find out we were getting a 100% refund. My brother told me the owner Mr.Perera had simply said “how can I charge u for a service which I have not even given”. This one line stunned me. Me and most of my friends travel around the world with leading travel companies but this was totally unheard of to all of us. So definitely the 3rd time we contacted Asian Island n also made enquiries with other companies just to be sure. Here I must say that the package provided by them was far better than all others in almost every aspect. Our trip manager Nilusha or KING Nilusha as they call him in Lanka along with his team handled my endless queries with utmost attention and accommodated all my requests. Where most companies take atleast 24 hours to incorporate changes KING sometimes did it in less than 24 minutes. It was during this time that the Gulf war broke out but the King assured us that even if fuel prices increase our cost would remain unchanged thus highlighting their integrity. When I asked him that I am travelling with my parents what if there is any crisis he smiled and said that “all of u can stay at my house…I will be very happy”. The love and warmth with which he said it gave me the assurance and thus our trip began.
At the airport I was warmly welcomed with a garland, cap, bottle and a free SIM. Though it felt nice but every big player does it but what I had clearly forgotten was the name is Asian Island. As I was escorted towards our car I was shocked to see a 10 seater luxury van waiting for us. We had originally booked a sedan but later made a request to upgrade to a suv at an adittional cost. What I had never imagined was that I would get a free upgrade to a van. When I called, Nilusha told me that the boss Mr.Gishan Perera had instructed to do so. Just like a hawk circles above everyone but stays silent and unnoticed similarly Gishan keeps tab of every client communication and requirement so u may not see him everyday but it is through incidents like this that u can feel his presence.
Their commitment to customer satisfaction was further highlighted when one day we missed an important spot and by the time the day was over we were almost 200km away.They agreed to travel the distance at 2am in the night so that we can see that place return n carry on thus keeping the next day’s plan unharmed again at no additional cost. I am yet to see such levels of customer service in any country or in any travel company. They reply to ur messages even at 11:30pm. Whenever we needed to convert USD it was done sitting in the comfort of our van once again at no extra charge. Imagine saving all the hassle of standing in queues, going to banks etc. Unlike others who waste time in refuelling our chauffeur always kept the tank full and he even drove alone at 5am to get us train tickets. The list goes on but we have a word limit.
Building a business is easy, building a brand is not very difficult, building a unicorn is also achievable but what Gishan is building here is a legacy that will outlast all of us and be the pioneer of the art of showing SRI LANKA to the world. Their ethics made me remember them and come back. Their skills professionalism and passion made me choose them. The unbreachable standards of customer service makes me believe in them and recommend them to everyone visiting the island country. I would like to conclude by saying that Sri Lanka is the gem capital of the world but the true gem of Sri Lanka is undoubtedly Gishan Perera so if its Sri Lanka Calling just pick up the phone and call ASIAN ISLAND.

I had a wonderful experience during my trip. The Asian Island team was extremely helpful from the beginning until the end of the journey. They carefully selected amazing destinations, and the hotels they arranged were excellent, making my trip truly memorable. We are a young family with kids from India. We reached out to Asian Island directly through Instagram with no reference and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Sayuri and Gishan have handheld us right from day zero. Nothing was a surprise, everything was planned and executed to perfection. They provided us enough flexibility to move things around when required. Also jumped in when required to upgrade hotel rooms etc. it felt like a family. I would not end this note without mentioning our driver and advisor Roshana. He is an amazing human being, a rare find these days. Took take of our kids like an elder member of the family. We are from India.. We 3 of us as a family travelled from 9/5/26 to 18 /5/26.The experience ever since we planned our trip and till the end of trip is outstanding.. My travel coordinator is Ms Thisuri and  has done a commendable job in curating our interested places for the visit.. The interactions we had with her as well as  Mr Gishan Perara when we had some uncertainties  truly gave confidence.
The places, stay, car and driver are too good and

It was flawless and well organised .

The places we visited were awesome.
The hospitality of the people whom we met are really very good.
The driver Mr. Famil is also require special mention for the safe trip throughout and patience in showing the places we wanted to visit ..

Iceing on the cake was when we had a dispute on the train ticket , Your MD spoke to me personally and offered to refund the difference in money which shows customer orientation and delight and true professionalism.. Special Kudos to Asian island…
We will definitely do the word of mouth to my known circle about your outstanding service and trip .

We had a truly amazing experience on our Sri Lanka trip organized by Asian Island with our family of 5 persons. It was a 7days trip which was  planned through continuous consultation with our coordinator Ms Hashini, who understood our requirements well and provided excellent solutions for them. She was very helpful, polite and prompt in resolving all issues, After that, we started our trip on 30th March. She is very professional and efficient in her job.
In addition Mr Dinusha,also was extremely helpful and nice to make our trip enjoyable.
Some of the highlights of our trip are:
1. Itinerary
It was very well planned except the fact that some places were extremely beautiful and an extra day there would've been wonderful. But, it's on us not on Asian Island team.
2. Scenic Train ride:
Surely, not to be missed. All thanks to Mr. Dinusha and Hashini for making it possible for us.
3.Choice of Hotels:
Excellent hotels in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Bentota. This was done in consultation with us , keeping our preferences in mind and with small adjustments in package price before the start of our trip. Other hotels were also ok with some minor issues. But, overall, it was a satisfying stay in those hotels.
4. Transportation:
First class experience with Toyota Hi ace KDH van which was used for our travel.Our driver/Guide/friend Mr Lasiru( Lass) turned out to be an amazing and versatile person. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and with good driving skills. He really made our trip memorable.
5. Price: We arranged our flight tickets ourselves. Besides that, the tour price was very competitive and fair.
Most Important is the quality of excellent service provided by Asian Island team under the able leadership of Mr Gishan.
6. Last but not the least, is the personal involvement and support of the young and dynamic owner of Asian Island Mr. Gishan C Perera, who added all those significant personal touches to our trip, to make us comfortable. We are all praise for this and also for guiding his team for treating the guest in such friendly spirit.
This journey is truly memorable for all of us. From stunning locations of beautiful country Sri Lanka to seamless arrangements, We will always cherish these sweet memories with a wish to travel to Sri Lanka again with Island Nation team.
